Mindfulness Workshops for Districts, Schools, or Departments

Telling staff to take time for self-care can be seen as just being given ‘another thing’ to do.

Instead of being overwhelmed with content and how-to’s, Kristin’s workshops focus on doing the mindfulness practices themselves.

Session participants will experience a variety of simple and grounding practices that will leave them refreshed, even if they have no prior mindfulness experience.

Mindful Living Workshops for Individuals

Kristin’s mindful living virtual workshops are ideal for beginners, as well as those interested in renewing their mindfulness practice.

These themed 1-hour sessions can be attended live and/or viewed at another time for your convenience. Session fees are based on a sliding scale so they may be accessible to all who are interested.

*NOTE - Participants do not need to attend the live event. All registrants will have access to workshop recording.

Kristin was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and understanding of the life of a teacher since she is a fellow educator. I am so appreciative of Kristin and her expertise presented in such a nonjudgmental and calm-inducing way.
— Brittany Eiler, Independence Elementary Special Education Teacher

Teaching Balance Workshops emphasize practice over content. below are some examples of the different meditation practices kristin can lead for you and your team.

Mini-Meditations (1 to 3 minutes)

  • Deep relaxation breaths and grounding

Mindful Awareness Meditation (10 to 20 minutes)

  • Resting awareness on an “anchor” like the breath, sounds, or sensations in the body

Kindness & Compassion Practice (10 to 20 minutes)

  • Cultivation of compassion for others, as well as ourselves

Body Scan Practice (15 to 30 minutes)

  • Concrete and straightforward practice focusing on relaxation

I believe this positively impacted me as a human and it helped increase my self-awareness as a teacher. My outlook on forgiveness has also changed and it’s allowed me to challenge the ways I approach conflict resolution in the classroom.
— Morgan Dosen, Sunrise Elementary Third Grade Teacher

Touch Sight Sound Practice (15 to 30 minutes)

  • Focuses on external sensory input and can be done sitting or walking

Mindful Listening & Speaking (10 minutes)

  • An exercise in equity, as each speaker get the same amount of time to speak without interruption

Mindful Movement (10 to 20 minutes)

  • Very slow movements creating sensations which serve as an anchor for one’s awareness

Mindful Eating (10-15 minutes)

  • Typically done with a single raisin, allowing us to later look for “raisin moments” in life

Guided Visualizations (5-10 minutes)

  • Connecting with our inner voice to reflect and/or find clarity about purpose and direction

Kristin is a very audience-driven presenter. She is very flexible in meeting the needs of her audience [and] is able to adapt and change plans if they require a different direction. Her approach is one that explains a strategy and then asks the audience to practice it; there is a good balance of theory and practice.

I loved the hands on guided practice that we did. It is helpful to hear Kristin’s (super soothing) voice as she gently guides us back to the present moment. I would highly recommend Kristin to teach you about mindfulness, she is awesome!
— Traci Severino, Cherokee Trail High School Languages Teacher
